COOKIES POLICY

Cookies & similar technologies

The ARTEMIS Platform — operated by CAI Technology S.R.L.

Aligned with Article 4(5) of Romanian Law no. 506/2004, the GDPR, and the 2024 ANSPDCP Guidelines on the use of cookies.

Version: v1.0 ARTEMIS • Published on: 2026-05-06 • Effective from: 2026-05-06

1. About this policy

This Policy explains how the ARTEMIS Platform — operated by CAI Technology S.R.L. (referred to as "CAI Technology S.R.L." or the "Operator") — uses cookies and similar technologies when you access https://artemis.caitech.ro or any associated sub-domain. The Policy is an integral part of the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy and must be read together with them.

2. Definitions

  • "Cookie" — a small text file stored on the User's device by the website visited, allowing the User to be recognized on subsequent visits.

  • "Similar technologies" — pixel tags, web beacons, local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, fingerprinting, integrated SDKs. The entire policy applies to similar technologies in the same way as to cookies.

  • "CMP" — Consent Management Platform; the technical mechanism by which the Operator collects, stores, and allows the withdrawal of consent.

  • "Strictly necessary" — the cookie is required for the basic operation of the Platform and does not require consent under Article 4(5)(a) of Romanian Law no. 506/2004.

3. Legal framework

The use of cookies on the Platform complies with:

  • Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) — in particular Article 6(1)(a) (consent) and Article 7 (conditions of validity);

  • Romanian Law no. 506/2004 on the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector — Article 4(5);

  • ANSPDCP Guidelines on the use of cookies and other tracking technologies — updated 2024;

  • Guidelines 03/2022 of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) on dark patterns and consent-interface design.

4. Basis for processing

Strictly necessary cookies are stored and read based on the Operator's legitimate interest in ensuring the operation of the Platform and the security of sessions — exempt from consent under Article 4(5)(a) of Romanian Law no. 506/2004.

All other categories (functional, analytics, marketing/advertising, social media) are used EXCLUSIVELY on the basis of the User's explicit consent, expressed through a clear affirmative action in the CMP. Refusal produces no functional disadvantage on the core services.

5. Categories of cookies used

5.1. Strictly necessary

Ensure authentication, session security (anti-CSRF), load balancing, cart/order saving, and storage of consent preferences. They cannot be disabled, as the Platform does not function without them.

5.2. Functional

Store User preferences (language, region, display theme, dashboard layout) to personalize the experience on subsequent visits. Refusing them does not block access but resets preferences at every session.

5.3. Analytics

Collect aggregate statistics on how the Platform is used (pages visited, time spent, traffic source) to optimize the Platform. Where technically feasible, the IP address is anonymized before storage.

5.4. Marketing and advertising

Enable personalization of promotional content and measurement of advertising-campaign effectiveness. May include third-party cookies (advertising networks, social media).

5.5. Social media

Set by integrated social-media plugins (LinkedIn, Facebook, X/Twitter) used to share content. Generally read the User's identification data on those networks.

6. List of cookies used

Cookie name Domain / Provider Category Purpose Duration Third-party?

For the list of third parties involved and transfers, see also the Subprocessors List.

7. Consent management

7.1. Granting and withdrawing consent

On your first visit to the Platform, you are shown a CMP banner that offers, with equal visual prominence, the options "Accept all", "Reject all", and "Customize". Consent can be modified at any time via the "Cookie Settings" button in the Platform footer or in your account panel. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the legality of prior processing.

7.2. Browser management

Independently of the Platform's CMP, the User can delete or block cookies directly from browser settings. The links below are useful for the most popular browsers:

  • Google Chrome

  • Mozilla Firefox

  • Microsoft Edge

  • Safari

  • Opera

Blocking strictly necessary cookies may render the Platform non-functional (authentication, session, or security may be affected).

7.3. Additional mechanisms

For third-party advertising cookies, the User may use:

  • Your Online Choices (European advertising networks);

  • Google Ads Settings: https://adssettings.google.com/;

  • Global Privacy Control (GPC): https://globalprivacycontrol.org/ — an automatic refusal signal sent by the browser, which the Operator will honor to the extent technically supported.

8. Rights

Cookies that involve the processing of personal data fall under the GDPR. With respect to these, the User benefits from the rights set out in Articles 15–22 GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent. For details and to exercise these rights, see the Privacy Policy, Section 7.

9. Changes

CAI Technology S.R.L. may update this Policy to reflect new cookies, legislative changes, or ANSPDCP guidelines. Changes are notified within the Platform at least 30 days in advance; the "Last updated" date and version number are updated at each revision. For changes that require re-obtaining consent, the CMP banner is re-displayed.
